Fundraising Officer - Hand in Hand
Managing all stages of fundraising events/activities to include initial marketing, promotion, liaison with relevant stakeholders prior to/during/after the event, coordination of volunteers prior to and on the day, arrangement of refreshments & materials required, etc.
- Develop new income streams.
- Promote and develop the Charity Organisation in an eager and enthusiastic manner, aiming to sustain and secure ongoing funding in a manner which is in line with relevant Policies and Procedures
- Monitor and report on fundraising activities to the Services Manager and the Board of Hand in Hand, preparing written reports and attending scheduled Board Meetings for this purpose.
- Develop collaborative relationships with all relevant stakeholders of Hand in Hand including community groups, sponsors, fundraisers, philanthropists, public and private sector organisations, etc.
- Provide first point of contact to these stakeholders, ensuring they are communicated with in an organised, prompt and professional fashion as required
- Provide administrative and operational support as required to the Service Manager.
The purpose of this role is in a hands on capacity, to coordinate and develop a sustainable National Support Service to children with cancer and their families in The Republic of Ireland.
The ideal candidate for the role of Fundraising Coordinator should have:
- Previous experience in a similar role in the Charity/Voluntary Sector
- Eagerness and enthusiasm towards their duties
- Discretion & confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure & in adherence to set timescales and agreed targets
- flexibility, innovation and adaptability
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
- Proficiency in utilising various social media platforms
- Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements relating to activities
- Full driving licence and own car essential
- Eligibility to legally work in Ireland
This role is on a full time basis, the successful candidate should be available to work 5 days per week (normally Monday to Friday), however flexibility will be required to work evenings/weekends as required on an adhoc basis.
