Course details:

This webinar is for all members of The Wheel hoping to get to grips with the regulatory landscape in Ireland. It's also a good refresher on current developments for those more familiar with regulation.

The session will include a run through the overall regulatory framework that exists Charity Trustee Week 2017

in Ireland for charities. We'll be looking at the key obligations for charities under the most wide-ranging regulations. The session will also include a round-up of recent and current developments in the area of charity regulation.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

identify the key regulatory authorities that oversee the sector
find the key obligations for charities under various regulators
identify the recent developments in regulation of the sector.

Host: Mairead O'Connor

Mairead O'Connor joined The Wheel in November 2016 as Training and Advice Coordinator.

She coordinates the advice and capacity-building support services we provide to our members. As well as driving and supporting the overall training programme delivered by The Wheel, Mairead facilitates groups in various programmes and can deliver a variety of Wheel training for members.

Mairead comes to us after spending the past 5 years in a training and development role in Grey Heron Media, working closely with Craol - The Community Radio Forum of Ireland coordinating a nationwide QQI certified Training initiative. She is also an award winning radio documentary producer.

The Governance Code

The Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable (CVC) Organisations [4] in Ireland.

This Code has been developed by the sector and for the sector, with the express purpose of enabling CVC organisations to achieve the highest standards of governance in the running of their organisations.
