What is the status of the Charities Act 2009?

Hi I'm wondering, can anyone shed light on any changes to status or progress of the Charities Act 2009 please? I hear there are phases being rolled out and wondering if someone better informed than me can break it down please as to how it will affect charities? Thanks!
