Course details: 

Whether you have 2 volunteer or 2,000, this workshop will show you that the volunteer management steps you need to take are much the same. We’ll lead you through these essential steps, focusing on planning for volunteer Involvement, volunteer engagement and day-to-day Volunteer Managementmanagement. 

At the end of this session you’ll be able to:

  • Explain the fundamentals of good volunteer management practice
  • Be able to identify good recruitment methods suitable for your organisations
  • Be able to identify good day to day volunteer management practice.

Stuart Garland

Stuart is Training & Programmes Manager at Volunteer Ireland where he manages the National Volunteer Management Training Programme and delivers bespoke training to national organisations. Stuart has worked in a wide range of roles in the voluntary and community sector since 1993.

He has direct extensive volunteer management experience with managing volunteer teams.

Stuart was a National Accreditor for European Voluntary Service (EVS) for seven years and has played a key role in development of volunteer management standards in EVS.

Stuart was on the volunteer management team for the Dublin Tall Ships Festival 2012, NYE Dublin 2013, Giro d'Italia Big Start 2014 and the Tour De France Grand Départ (Yorkshire stages).
