Misean Cara is an International NGO and membership organisation of Irish Missionary congregations, churches and volunteer agencies that serve the poorest and most vulnerable communities overseas through development work in climate resilient livelihoods, education, health and human rights. Our 77 members work in over 50 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Misean Cara raises funds for this vital work as well as providing capacity development support to upskill teams, strengthen institutions and create opportunities for innovation and learning for our members. 

The purpose of the Fundraising Committee is to oversee and support Misean Cara's strategy to diversify and increase funding and advise on the sources and purposes of prospective donations and fundraising. 

The Committee meets a minimum of three times per year and hold responsibility for reviewing and reporting to the Board on Misean Cara’s fundraising activities against targets and advise on strategy. 

The Committee will work the Donor Engagement Manager and CEO to determine the future fundraising activities that Misean Cara will undertake and will help to identify and assist the DEM to enhance their knowledge and expertise in relation to fundraising opportunities through either personal contacts (where possible), training, or other possible leads. 

Committee members act as Misean Cara fundraising ambassadors and seize available opportunities to promote the organisation
