Big Issues in the Sector 2024
2024 has been a year of change for the sector and Irish society more generally. We’ve had three elections, await a new Government, the passing of a new Charities’ Act after 15 years, and changes to regulation in key areas.
This short briefing is an opportunity to bring our members up to speed on what’s been going on, and to listen to listen to your views on priorities for 2025.
The session will also provide you with opportunity to ask questions and to hear from others in the sector about what changes they have experienced in 2024, and what they expect coming in to 2025.

Meet Your Facilitator:
Colette Bennett is The Wheel’s Director of Advocacy and Research, and has worked in senior advocacy and organisational development roles for 15 years. She has a Masters in Social Justice and Public Policy and is a member of the Royal Irish Academy Social Sciences Committee. She regularly lectures in universities and colleges across Ireland on social justice and public policy frameworks.
