National Conference on Stroke, 20 May

This is the third Conference hosted by the South Tipperary Stroke Communication Group. Every year, approximately 7,500 people in Ireland have a stroke. Stroke is the biggest cause of acquired disability and the third biggest cause of death in Ireland.

At this Conference you will hear from professionals in the area of stroke and rehabilitation, from survivors and from those who are active in technology developments for those who suffer a stroke or a brain injury.

Speakers: 

  • Guest Speaker - Professor Joseph Harbison

    Joe Harbison is Associate Professor and Head of Discipline of Medical Gerontology in Trinity College Dublin as well as a practicing Geriatrician and Stroke Physician in St James’s Hospital in Dublin. Most of his research and clinical interests are around stroke and cerebrovascular disease.
