Youth Work Ireland Midlands (formally Midlands Regional Youth Service) has been in operation since the 1960s. Its primary role is to provide support in the form of training for young people and adults involved in the establishment of youth clubs throughout the Midlands region. We provide a wide range of planned programmes and activities for young people.

What is your goal?
Our Mission: “Working with young people, for young people in Offaly, Roscommon and Westmeath” Our mission statement outlines in a succinct way the values that motivate staff and volunteers of Youth Work Ireland Midlands to work with and for young people in our region. We aim to work towards this mission by using quality youth work methodologies to provide services to young people in our communities through universal & targeted youth work practice. Partnership and relationships are our strengths which enable us to be flexible and engaged to continue to meet the needs of young people.
Our Vision: The Vision of Youth Work Ireland Midlands encourages young people to reach their full potential, where they are empowered to take responsibility for their own actions and becoming positive, active members of their communities.

How has being a member of The Wheel helped?
Ensuring we have access to trusted, up to date information & training that reflects the context and needs of the third sector. Competent, informed staff are accessible. Social media & Communications systems are excellent.
How can people support you?
We actively recruit and support adult volunteers to deliver high quality Youth Clubs across Roscommon, Westmeath & Offaly and are always looking for interested and motivated adult leaders within communities, large and small. If you know of a Youth Club, a Comhairle na nOg, a Community Youth Project in your area and you have young people aged 10 - 25 in your family, encourage them to get involved and participate, to make new friends, engage in projects that interest them such as equality, LGBTI+, climate, sports, cultural identity, International youth exchanges, European Solidarity Corp opportunities, Gaisce, music and much more. Support our local fundraising campaigns e.g. flag days, sponsored events etc.
