Building Sustainable Relationships and Resolving Conflict - Being Right about the Past or Making Things Right for the Future Instead, Free Zoom Webinar on Tuesday, 10 Dec @ 7.00 – 8.30pm.

What is conflict?

In short it can be seen as being a dispute about the past.

An argument about who is right and who is wrong.

A dispute about what happened and why and who is to blame for its consequences and impacts.

Who is the victim and who is the perpetrator when things going wrong.

And what actions are valid in response to the perceived wrong actions of the other party to make the wrong right.

Concepts like right and wrong link to things like violence, punishment, self-justification and self-righteousness, revenge, and also entrenchment and escalation of conflict.

If we are consumed by the past, then we have no room for the future.

Yet the future is where …….. the future comes from!

Who knew?

Can we escape the lock of right and wrong in dealing with differences, disputes and conflict and find the third way towards the future?

Perhaps the 13th Century Persian Sufi and Mystic poet Rumi got it right when he wrote:

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn't make any sense.

This was centuries before Michael Faraday discovered the fact of electromagnetic energy fields.

Rumi knew nothing of these.

Or maybe he did, but in a different way?

If we can find a different way in dealing with conflict and differences, then maybe we too can find that not so foreign field that isn’t forever England but the future?

A field where there are no victims of conflict and war but only those who create the sacred place of peace where conflict and war have no dominion.

In this free Webinar we will together explore some the ways where together we may find the ways and pathways to and from the future that can bring remedy to the past and hope for a better shared future in equal measure.

This Webinar is part of an ongoing series to do with Building Sustainable Relationships and Resolving Conflict.

All are welcome and hopefully it will be an interesting and revealing experience together with some light bulb moments along the way hopefully.
