National Allotments and Community Gardens Week, 12 - 19 Oct
We are excited to announce that the second National Allotments and Community Gardens Week will be taking place in Ireland from 12 – 19 October 2024!
We are running this event to raise awareness of allotments and community gardens, to highlight how important they are and to detail the huge benefits of community gardening for communities, individuals, biodiversity and the local environment.
The 2024 theme is Healthy Soil and we hope as many allotments, community gardens, school gardens, tidy towns and local growers in Ireland can get involved to celebrate how important community growing spaces are.
Last year’s National Week involved over 30 events organised throughout the island of Ireland, encouraged discussions on community growing in communities throughout Ireland, and also saw the first ever Community Gardens Bill proposed.
We are also looking for communities from all over Ireland to post online as a virtual celebration of their community growing spaces and to highlight your healthy soil story!
