Meet The Speakers
Dr Fabio Silva, BSc CS, MBA, Software Engineering, MSc, and PhD, is a Senior Researcher in the International Energy Research Centre (IERC), part of the Tyndall National Institute, and the University College Cork (UCC), in Ireland. Fabio works on projects covering a broad range of aspects of energy poverty and energy technologies. Fabio is a member of the Alliance for IoT and Edge Computing Innovation (AIOTI) Energy Working Group51, the IEEE Power & Energy Society, and the IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT). Also, he is the co-Principal Investigator and Project Leader in the Irish Energy Poverty Observatory (IREPO), and Principal Investigator in the EPCO - A co-designed framework to address groups most vulnerable to energy poverty.
Dr. Dewi Dimyati-Vliexs is an EU Section Lead at the South East Energy Agency, with over 16 years of experience in renewable energy, climate action, and EU-funded project delivery. Within the context of the IREPO project, Dewi contributes her expertise in energy systems, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder engagement to support a deeper understanding of energy poverty and its impacts at local and regional levels. Her work focuses on translating complex data and research into practical insights that can inform policy, support programmes, and on-the-ground action. Her presentation will focus on:
“EPAH report for identifying EU regions with higher vulnerability to severe energy poverty: Ireland case study.”
