Development Worker

This position offers an opportunity to work in a feminist community development project that supports women’s equality and wellbeing in North Leitrim.

Women’s Collective Ireland are recruiting for the following position:

WCI North Leitrim Development Worker (Part-time - 17 hours per week). The successful candidate will be based in WCI North Leitrim’s office, in The Bee Park Resource Centre, Manor Hamilton, Co. Leitrim.

Employed by the WCI Board of Management, the Development Worker is responsible for the engagement in community development work within WCI North Leitrim and to facilitate and support development, well-being, training, and networking of women in the local area.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience community development working within the community sector.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • An understanding of grassroots feminism.
  • The ability to outreach and engage with women in the local area.
  • The ability to identify the relevant training, supports and needs of women in the area.
  • The ability to assist with the planning, promoting and the delivery of relevant programmes within WCI North Leitrim.
  • The ability to network with other community organisations to support women's participation.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.

The salary for this post is based on the 1st point of WCI Development Worker Salary Scale - €31,217 (pro-rata).
