Marie Keating Foundation currently have a vacancy for a full-time Nursing Services Co-Ordinator for our Community, Schools and Corporate Wellness Services.
Job Purpose

The Foundation is one of the leading voices in Ireland for cancer prevention, awareness, and support. We are committed to being there for people diagnosed with cancer, and their families, at every step of their cancer journey, and our services reflect that. Through our information and support services, we reach thousands of people each year, with education, information and advice focused on cancer prevention and early detection, as well as providing support services and financial assistance to those living with and beyond cancer.
We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Nursing Services Co-ordinator for our community, schools and corporate wellness services.
The Nursing Services Co-ordinator will report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) but will also work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) Services, the Marie Keating Nursing team together and the drivers for designated regional areas.
This job requires both remote and office working. A minimum of one day per week will be office based in Workways, Tallaght. During the initial training period of four weeks, you may be required to attend the office more then one day a week to meet the training requirements of the role.

- Excellent team player as a core member of both the nursing services and office teams within the Foundation.
Roles and Responsibilities for Community, Schools and Corporate Wellness Service Co-ordinator include but not limited to the following:
Administrative work:
- Administer the general Marie Keating Foundation email and telephone queries within the Foundation.
- Co-ordinate the nurses and drivers schedule across the Republic of Ireland.
- Maintain regular contact with nurses/drivers and inform them of schedules at least 2 weeks in advance.
- Provide administrative support to all nursing staff and drivers.
- Update TimeTree scheduling system with all the nurses’ schedules once an event is booked
- Ensure that relevant materials (infographics, posters and mobile unit adverts) are sent to the contact person in each Community, Corporate and School setting pre scheduled event where requested
- Ensure all community services are advertised on www.mariekeating.ie
- Record all service activity on CRM system for both corporate, community and schools events
- Maintain a database of all relevant contacts, current and new (community, schools and corporates including underserved community groups)
- Work to ensure that 25% of our service continues to be in marginalised communities. This involves reaching out directly to marginalised communities and promoting our community services
- Ensure that a post evaluation feedback survey link is sent to the organisation within 5 working days of the nurses visit
- Record all feedback received from Community, Schools and Corporates and/or Nurses monthly and forward to the communications team as a resource
- Collate service records for management as requested
- Ensure KPI’s are collected monthly and submitted as requested in a timely manner
- Ensure a stocktake of all resources required for service provision is conducted monthly
- (Leaflets, Booklets, Health Visuals, Pull-ups etc.)
Corporate Wellness Service:
- Maintain good communication with corporate contacts in a timely manner. This is very important if a booking must be changed for any reason or if a corporate has queried a service being provided
- Promote the corporate wellness service directly to companies and via other strategic partners (e.g. Health Care Providers/ Health Insurers, Franchise companies etc)
- Ensure Corporates receive all relevant materials e.g. MKF interactive Services Brochure and current Corporate Wellness Services price list.
- Ensure timely and good communication with both the corporate requesting a service and the nurse delivering the service.
- Keep a record on the Shared Folder of all invoices received and ensure the organisation has paid for the service
- Work closely with the MKF Finance Manager in relation to accepting payments from corporate organisations
- Collate and provide payroll data for Accounts Department
- Support and seek support from the Assistant Director of Nursing Services, who manages the Corporate Wellness service, to acquire new corporate wellness online or onsite workshops
- Record and maintain Annual Leave and sickness records for Nurses and Drivers together with HR Executive
Schools Cancer Awareness Service:
- Communicate with secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) to promote the School’s Cancer Awareness Programme (SCAP) and to make new bookings
- Aim to recruit new schools as well as reaching out to schools who previously availed of this programme.
- Maintain good communication with school contacts and connect the relevant nurse with the contact once booking confirmed.
- Maximum of 3 schools talks to be booked in any one day for the MKF nurse and class numbers per each talk to ideally be no greater than 30 students
- Advice school contact that a teacher must always be present for each talk deliver
- Coordinate delivery of the Schools Programme with the Postgraduate nurses who are employed each year on a separate contract to deliver our Schools Programme in their associated locations.
- Remind postgraduate nurses to maintain a spreadsheet on all schools visited and to send back their Service User Forms within 5 working days of delivering the service
- Inform postgraduate nurses to keep MKF service coordinator updated on schools booked to avoid reaching out to the same schools and duplicating a service.
Marketing and Networking for Community, Schools and Corporates
- Extensive liaison and networking across all healthcare providers, community groups, corporate groups, schools and marginalised communities is required in order to secure bookings for all three services
- Collaborate with the Irish Cancer Society (ICS) in relation to their Community Outreach Schedule to ensure that the Marie Keating Foundation does not duplicate a service that the ICS is providing
- Refer users/callers on to other cancer services when information outside the remit of the Foundation is requested.
National Events
- Be informed of any National Health events or public events where the Foundation should be represented (e.g. Over 50’s show, etc.).
- Work in conjunction with all members of the team within MKF and provide support to these events e.g. Young Scientist, Ploughing Championships
Ensure nurses are scheduled at least 3 months in advance of such shows
Men’s Sheds and other outreach community services:
- Work with the Men’s Shed Association Ireland (MSAI) to deliver our Cancer Awareness Programme in their Sheds for Life programme and other outreach community services ensuring all administrative activity listed above is adhered to.
