St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men, women, and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin Area. St. Michael’s House is a company funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), TUSLA and the Department of Education and Skills.
About the role:
A full-time permanent vacancy exists within Service Area 3, Children and Young Persons Services and Support Services, for a Service Manager. Reporting to the Director of Children & Young Persons Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and ensuring very high standards of quality care, to both nursing and social care led units in a cluster that consists of a variety of residential , respite and support services for both children and adults. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence service quality and to work with the Children's Directorate Management team, a motivated and positive group of frontline managers and teams of dedicated and committed staff.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a number of key areas including, human resource management, health, safety and quality assurance, budgets and the implementation of national policies and standards. They will assist the Director of Service in managing the overall service and developing services and supports provided to children and adults in St. Michael's House.
The Idea Candidate:
Will have a recognised third level degree in social care, nursing, or other relevant discipline and at least 5 years relevant experience in the disability field. Have demonstrated experience of working in Children's Disability Services.
A management qualification is also essential.
Will have a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships and strong communication skills at all levels, the ability to foster excellent teamwork and trust in a changing environment, have demonstrated leadership characteristics
Have experience in developing and delivering services as they relate to adults and children with disability or complex needs.
Have an in-depth knowledge and experience of working in a regulated environment and of implementing HIQA standards.
Experience of managing front line staff and being an effective team player to effect real change in the lives of the people we support, and their families is an integral part of the position.

Salary Scale: The successful candidate will be paid in line with the HSE revised consolidated pay scales commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
