Training & Education Coordinator

This position of Training & Education Coordinator (T &E Coordinator) involves the overseeing and management of the WCP Mullingar Training & Education Department

WCP Mullingar is a not-for-profit organisation, with charitable status.  Established in 1985, with almost 40 years of experience, our main aim is to support the women of Mullingar and the surrounding areas and their families; to be empowered through education, training and community enterprise support.

 Training & Education Coordinator Job Description (35 hours per week)

The position of Training & Education Coordinator (T&E Coordinator) involves the overseeing and management of the Training & Education Department; reporting to the Training and Education Sub Committee, Project Coordinator and the Board of Management of Women’s Community Projects (Mullingar) Association CLG.

The duties & responsibilities of the T&E Coordinator include:

  • Daily management, planning and implementation of programme delivery in the T & E Department and be responsible for existing provision.
  • Develop, design and co-ordinate of educational programmes.
  • Identifying funding opportunities and designing, costing and completing funding applications.
  • Recruitment of learners for the training and educational programmes.
  • Identify and support training needs, educational provision, development opportunities and initiatives.
  • To ensure that the integrity of our courses reflects WCP Mullingar policies. 
  • Implementation & updating of policies and procedures as required.
  • To deliver and oversee administration to include enrolment & student liaison.
  • Ensuring adequate GDPR is applied in line with policies and procedures. 
  • To identify and form strategic partnerships for course development, validation, and delivery.
  • Quality Assurance duties as requested.
  • Work collaboratively with the QA Officer & team on monitoring, evaluating & development of programmes and strategic documents / presentations.
  • Design, arrange production & distribution of marketing / advertising materials of T&E programmes and WCP Mullingar services.
  • Organise and advertise open days and promotional stands at various external events.
  • Act as MC and delivering presentations for events by the T & E Department and WCP Mullingar.
  • Support the work of the T & E Sub-Committee.
  • Creating content & updating social media platforms regarding the activities of the T & E Department and WCP Mullingar.
  • Supervision of Staff, Volunteers & Tutors in the T & E Department & other areas as required. 
  • Induction of Staff, Volunteers, Tutors and Learners 
  • Providing ongoing on the job training for staff & organising additional training where required. 
  • Overseeing the Department finances.
  • Planning, costing, preparing budgets including annual and specific to programmes.
  • Planning, costing and reporting development plans for the Department.
  • The T & E Coordinator will work closely with other departments within WCP Mullingar, attend team meetings and contribute to organisational planning & development.
  • Overseeing and management of related areas such as reception and the canteen.
  • Other duties as required.

Competencies & Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum Level 7 in Training & Education, Community Education, Community Development and / or related areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant Work Experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising staff at appropriate management level, including preparing staff rosters.
  • Excellent Planning, Administration, Organisational & Multitasking skills.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Office and experience of using social media & design platforms to design and share business/organisation content advertising the Department & WCP Mullingar.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a management team & contribute to the implementation of strategic plans, policies & procedures.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours.
  • Relevant experience of teaching, learning or training in an adult education, communication education or voluntary sector, would be an advantage (not essential).
  • Demonstrate experience in the skills / competencies identified as being important for the role, including: 

Leadership: Supporting, developing, leading & managing staff.

Analysis & Decision Making: Programme planning, monitoring & implementing.

Project Management: Designing, planning & delivery of training schedules, reviewing, reporting & evaluating programmes / services and ability to meet deadlines.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:  Promote, establish and maintain effective verbal / written communication including presentations and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders effectively and to represent WCP Mullingar as required.

Remuneration

  • The full-time salary equivalent for this position is €43,500.60 (Pro Rata 35 hour contract).
  • A 6-month probationary period applies to this position.  A fixed term contract will be awarded to the successful applicant for 1 year.
  • Further contracts may be offered subject to satisfactory performance of duties & the continuation of funding for the position.
