Assisted Decision Making Module - Registrations Now Open

Posted on 16 Feb 2022

POSTER

Registrations are now open for our newest module: the Assisted Decision Making module. Starting on March 1st 2022 for a duration of 8 weeks it will comprise a series of lectures and workshops.

This module will be of interest to those caring for a loved one or working in the care sector in addition to the general public. The module is free but we ask for a commitment where possible to the eight weeks.

Why Assisted Decision Making?

The Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015 is about supporting decision-making and maximising a person’s capacity to make decisions. The Act will be commenced in June 2022.

This module seeks to facilitate the development of Healthcare Decision Making Literacy, and will provide an overview of the history of decision-making approaches in healthcare and bioethics, interrogate decision-making approaches (supported, assisted) and introduce narrative and pedagogical approaches to assisted decision making law and practice.  It involves a combination of lectures and workshops over 8 weeks.

It will be delivered in All Hallows College starting Tuesday March 1st 10am to 12.30pm by Dr. David Gibson.

Please register here and do not hesitate to contact us for more information!

Looking forward to seeing many of you sign up.
