Let's Talk about the Elephant in the Room!
We are excited to announce the launch of our Elephant in the Room series, tackling complex and often uncomfortable topics head-on.
We all know there are certain topics that feel like the elephant in the room—uncomfortable, awkward, and sometimes even intimidating to address. These are the issues that leave us with nagging questions we’re too worried to ask or discussions we’re afraid to start.
The Elephant in the Room series is STAND's new webinar and podcast series addressing some of these topics. We want to create a space for the honest, unfiltered conversations tackling the subjects that make us uneasy but are too important to ignore.
Each episode is only 20 minutes long, where listeners can hear from thought leaders, experts, and activists and, if they join the live webinar, they’ll have the chance to engage in a rapid 5-minute Q&A session.
Our first webinar, The Elephant That Crossed Borders, with Neo Gilson, will explore the pressing issue of immigration and borders on 2 October at 6pm. With so many conflicting views—concerns about resources, integration, and cultural differences—it can feel overwhelming to even start the conversation. How can we foster more inclusive attitudes in our communities? How do we engage in meaningful, empathetic discussions about migration amidst political debates and global crises?
