Board Treasurer

Treasurer - to provide guidance and oversight of the Project's financial in-comings and outgoings, to ensure compliance with the Charity Governance Code

Gateway Mental Health Project are seeking to recruit a treasurer to join the Board of Directors.

The Board are particularly interested in individuals with recent and relevant experience in working with statutory regulators, with knowledge working with budgets and involvement in working directly with the HSE, as the primary funder.

Core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Providing input to the strategic direction of the organisation and contributing with insight, oversight, and experience at board meetings and any additional commitments
  • Policy development and implementation as required
  • Provide advice and information to ensure financial security
  • To review the risk register, especially in regard to financial sustainability.

Essential/Desired Skills/Qualities required: 

  • An appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector
  • An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values
  • Commitment to highest levels of corporate governance 
  • Lived experience of Mental Health difficulties  (either as a family member of a person OR
  • An openness to learning from those with lived experience of mental health difficulties (especially members of Gateway).

Board meetings:

There will be at least 8 board meetings per year and the post holder may be asked to join/lead a sub-committee. Meetings are held on location (Rathmines, Dublin 8), but with facilities to allow for online attendance.
