Community Fundraising Co-Ordinator

St Michael's House Foundation is currently looking for a Community Fundraising Co-Ordinator.

This Community Fundraising Co-Ordinator role will play a key part in the development of St. Michael’s House Foundation.

The focus of this role is not only on engaging external stakeholders but also on fostering collaborative relationships within St. Michael’s House. In this multifaceted role, you will work closely with services staff and other key roles to integrate fundraising efforts seamlessly into the fabric of the organisation. Collaborating through the organisation, you will ensure that fundraising initiatives align with St. Michael’s House’s goals and enhance our overall impact.

Your role extends beyond fundraising events and donor relations to fostering a sense of unity within St. Michael’s House. Working closely with various teams, you will promote a culture of philanthropy and community engagement, encouraging cross-departmental collaboration. Your ability to connect with colleagues across different roles will be crucial in creating a cohesive and supportive environment that amplifies our collective impact. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

In this position, the candidate will be the driving force behind our community engagement efforts, working collaboratively to raise funds and awareness for our cause. The primary responsibility will be to develop and implement creative fundraising campaigns that resonate with our supporters. This includes organising events, campaigns, and outreach initiatives to build a robust network of supporters. As a Community Fundraiser, you will leverage your excellent interpersonal skills to connect with donors and partners, fostering a sense of community spirit and philanthropy. Your ability to articulate St. Michael’s House’s mission and impact will be crucial in inspiring others to contribute to our cause.

In addition to your fundraising responsibilities, you will be at the forefront of maintaining strong relationships with existing donors and supporters. You will provide personalised and attentive stewardship, ensuring that contributors feel valued and connected to the impact of their contributions. Beyond monetary donations, you will actively listen to community feedback, concerns, and aspirations, serving as a bridge between St. Michael’s House Foundation and its supporters. By creating a nurturing and inclusive environment, you will cultivate a sense of belonging within our community, turning supporters into long-term partners in our shared mission. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Relationship Management
  • Build long-term, sustainable relationships with new and existing community supporters and donors and other supporters to ensure a sustainable donor base. 
  • To ensure that the needs and expectations of existing and potential donors are met and exceeded in order to maximise fundraising income, and to ensure their lifelong support of St. Michael’s House.
  • Develop key relationships within St. Michael’s House.
  • Ensure all donor funding records are well maintained. 
  • Manage the overall relationship ensuring all donor stewardship, reporting and other requirements are met. 
  • Manage all potential volunteers for St. Michael’s House
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the communications team and other functions within the organisation.

 

  1. Fundraising
  • Supporting the CEO of the Foundation with all planned and new fundraising activities
  • Be responsible for managing any new activity for Community/Events/3rd party fundraising.
  • Create and lead on any bespoke events for the Foundation team, including mass participation events and potential flag days.
  • Investigate new or alternative funding sources.
  • Support the planning and managing of all direct mail campaigns.
  • Assist 3rd party fundraisers with their fundraising activities. Be the point of contact and support for all activity. 
  • Working closely with the CEO to maximise income from online channels including recruitment of new supporters and development of relationships with existing supporters.

 

  1. Donor Centric
  • Implement plans for new fundraising and cultivation activities to broaden the existing donor base and increase funding levels.
  • Ensure that all fundraising St. Michael’s House Foundation undertakes, focuses primarily on the Donor/Supporter journey
  • Play a lead role in maintaining our donor database solution for the organisation to ensure donor centric compliance.
  • Ensure at all times a world class donor experience is delivered
  • Constantly develop the network of St. Michael’s House supporters

 

  1. Support
  • St. Michael’s House Foundation has a small team, you will be required to support other elements of the team on occasion.

 

PRINCIPLE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Qualifications/Experience

  • Relevant third level qualification in business, marketing or another related discipline 

Or

  • Experience of fundraising or business development within a results-based organisation project or operation

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience and success in developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of fundraising
  • Good knowledge of Digital and digital recruitment channels
  • Comfortable working to stretching targets
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, report writing and presentation
  • Able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hand on approach
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on customer service
  • Excellent MS Office skills

Salary Scale

Successful candidates will be paid in line with Grade 3 admin scales depending on experience: €27,895 to €44,863 pro-rata based on a 35 hour week.
