Corporate Fundraising Executive

SMH Foundation are recruiting for a Corporate Fundraising Executive to play a key role in fundraising initiatives & strategies.

The Corporate Executive at St. Michael's House Foundation will collaborate closely with the CEO to cultivate essential Corporate, Trust, and Foundation Partnerships. This pivotal role involves strategic stewardship and prospect management, implementing a well-defined activity calendar for each targeted partner.

The primary objective of this role is to uncover new opportunities for building strategic partnerships while nurturing existing relationships within the business sector nationally but with a focus on Dublin and surrounding counties. The Fundraiser will actively identify corporate prospects, working closely with them to establish high-value, sustainable partnerships that align with the goals and needs of both St. Michael's House Foundation and the corporate partner. Additionally, the role includes taking the lead on Grants, Trusts, and Foundations on behalf of St. Michael's House Foundation, with support from the CEO.

Successful candidates for this role will possess business development experience, strong networking skills, and a track record of relationship development successes. Proven project management abilities, coupled with excellent application writing and proposal development skills, will be essential. Attention to detail is paramount in ensuring the success of this role in driving St. Michael's House Foundation's partnerships and fundraising initiatives.

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Corporate Fundraising Strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate fundraising strategy aligned with the goals of St. Michael’s House Foundation.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners, maximising fundraising opportunities.
  • Develop and implement plans to maximise income from corporates in the short, medium and long term.
  • Ensure that the needs and expectations of existing and potential corporate supporters are met and exceeded in order to maximise fundraising income, and to ensure their lifelong support of St. Michael’s House.
  • Manage and grow existing corporate supporters into partnerships and/or Charity Partners of the Year.
  • Develop key relationships within St. Michael’s House.
  • Research potential Corporate Supporter and prepare approach plan.
  • Hold meetings, present and pitch to existing and potential new corporates.

 

  1. Fundraising
  • Build long-term, sustainable relationships with new and existing corporate supporters and donors to ensure a sustainable donor base. 
  • Spearhead third-party collaborations and bespoke fundraisers, leveraging diverse opportunities within the corporate landscape.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of corporate fundraising efforts into the wider organizational fabric.
  • Investigate new or alternative corporate funding sources.
  • Plan and manage any direct mail campaigns to corporates
  • Assist Corporate 3rd party fundraisers with their fundraising activities. Be the point of contact and support for all activity. 
  • Working closely with the communications team to maximise income from online channels including recruitment of new corporates and development of relationships with existing corporates.
  • Proactively seek out and develop new corporate partnerships that meet both the needs of St. Michael’s House Foundation and the corporate partner.
  • In conjunction with the CEO write Grant, Trusts and Foundations applications.
  • Manage application processes of these grants, trusts and foundations

 

  1. Donor Centric
  • Ensure that all fundraising St. Michael’s House Foundation undertakes with Corporates, focuses primarily on the Donor/Supporter journey
  • Play a lead role in maintaining our donor database solution for the organisation to ensure donor centric compliance.
  • Ensure at all times a world class donor experience is delivered
  • Constantly develop the network of St. Michael’s House Corporate supporters
  • Ensure all corporate donor funding records are well maintained. 
  • Manage the overall relationship ensuring all donor stewardship, reporting and other requirements are met. 
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the communications team and other functions within the organisation.

 

  1. Support
  • St. Michael’s House Foundation has a small team, you will be required to support other elements of the team on occasion

 

Essential Criteria for Applicants:

  • Relevant corporate fundraising experience (or equivalent business experience), managing a diverse portfolio of partnerships/relationships
  • Experience developing professional relationships as well as maintaining existing professional relationships.
  • Experience of liaising with and managing high level supporters with a solid understanding of the principles of excellent donor/customer care.
  • Good knowledge of the dynamics of fundraising in the not for profit sector.
  • Experience of adhering to GDPR legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent project management skills are essential.
  • Demonstrable excellent communication skills, in person, online and in written media.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work on own initiative to multiple tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel and perform occasional evening and weekend work, when required, to attend appropriate networking meetings and events and/or deliver presentations to prospective donors.

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant third level qualification in business, marketing or another related discipline or 
  • Experience of fundraising or business development within a results-based organisation project or operation

 

Salary Scale

Successful candidates will be paid in line with Grade 4 admin scales depending on experience: €32,297 to €51,103 pro-rata based on a 35 hour week.
