About the Job

As a social enterprise, FoodCloud’s impact depends on the balance of growing revenue alongside achieving our environmental and social mission. The Partnerships Director is a key senior leadership position responsible for the development and management of FoodCloud’s partnerships with the food industry, food banks, and community organisations. The role is critical in shaping FoodCloud's future by advancing its strategic objectives, growing its impact, and ensuring financial sustainability.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the Partnerships Director will develop and execute long-term plans to strengthen FoodCloud’s core proposition for partners, enabling the organisation to deliver on its mission while achieving both impact and revenue targets.

Key Duties

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership to a team of over 20 colleagues
  • Lead the organisation’s commercial and impact-driven partnership activities, focusing on retail, food industry, food banks, and community organisations, and engaging with institutions, including FEBA and GFN
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with FoodCloud’s mission, vision and financial sustainability goals
  • Lead the creation and execution of the commercial and partnerships strategy, aligning it with the overall organisational strategy
  • Develop a scalable business and revenue model to ensure sustained growth
  • Identify and cultivate new commercial opportunities with existing and potential partners, striving for mutual benefit
  • Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with partners, ensuring clear expectations and quality service delivery
  • Lead the creation of tender and proposal documents for new partnership opportunities
  • Oversee the development and management of partnership programmes, providing strategic support to account managers for partnerships in new markets, including low and middle-income countries

Collaboration with Product & Technology Teams:

  • Oversee the Foodiverse Solutions Team to enhance service delivery through technology, ensuring efficiency and ease for customers
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the development and strategic direction of Foodiverse,  FoodCloud’s technology platform, ensuring the platform supports the organisation’s objectives
  • Work closely with the product, technology, and operations teams to ensure the technology is effectively integrated into FoodCloud’s service offerings

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a large team across multiple functions, providing guidance to ensure key partner accounts are effectively managed and partnership goals are achieved
  • Foster collaboration and communication across teams, promoting a positive and inclusive organisational culture aligned with FoodCloud’s values
  • Ensure high standards of internal communication, keeping all functions informed and engaged, while maintaining positive collaboration across teams
  • Foster an inclusive, trusting, and productive work environment, ensuring positive collaboration between teams and alignment with FoodCloud’s organisational culture
  • Proactively resolve challenges to maintain strong internal and external relationships

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead FoodCloud to deliver a best-in-class proposition for all partners, aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives
  • Be the voice of food donors, food banks and charity partners within FoodCloud , ensuring these partners' needs are understood and prioritised across the organisation
  • Represent FoodCloud’s vision and values in external partnerships and internal leadership, contributing to a positive work environment
  • Support the creation of communications strategies in collaboration with marketing and communications functions to advance partnership objectives
  • Report to the CEO and Board of Directors on progress against partnership strategies and financial targets

Operational Management:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant legislation, and internal requirements
  • Oversee budget management for the partnerships team, ensuring financial efficiency

Other General Duties:

  • Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure the efficient delivery of services
  • Complete documentation and reporting as required, including developing and maintaining partner contracts , maintaining a professional approach at all times

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Partnerships Director or in a similar leadership role, ideally within the food sector, technology sector and/or a mission-driven or social enterprise environment
  • Strong relationship management and networking skills, coupled with leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Relevant degree or master’s qualification
