Young Irish people most active in social, political and civic life
A new Eurobarometer on young people (15 to 30 years) finds that young Irish people were overall the most likely at 87% to actively participate in social, political and civic activities.
In particular, the survey finds that young Irish people (74%) were the most likely to have taken part in volunteering activities or local community projects. The EU average was 58% dropping to 37% in Croatia. Ireland (53%) was also the only EU country where over half of young people had taken part in organised voluntary activities over the previous 12 months.
