Dublin Bus Community Spirit Awards Reopens for Funding Applications

Posted on 1 Jun 2022

Since 2004, the Community Spirit Awards (CSAs) have helped over 2,000 groups and projects from local voluntary and community organisations who work selflessly and tirelessly to raise community spirit and improve the lives of those in their locality.

Last year Community Cancer Caregivers, Down Syndrome Centre and Glasnevin Boxing Club were three of 65 winning groups and they spoke with Dublin Bus employees to encourage applications for this year’s awards CSAs.

We invite you to watch the video (and then to continue on to the application info below that):

About the Community Spirit Awards

Since 2004, Dublin Bus has been supporting grassroots voluntary and community groups across the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) through the Community Spirit Awards.

The Community Spirit Awards help to support the development of new projects, grow services and help raise community spirit in the local community. The programme was initiated to recognise and support the invaluable work undertaken each day by local groups located within the Dublin Bus network.

To date over 2,000 groups have received funding from Dublin Bus which has helped many worthwhile causes in communities across the GDA.

Apply for this year’s Awards

To apply, entrants must complete an application form, which includes a proposal with details about their organisation and the project which they wish to have funded. Each application is judged independently, and successful groups will be awarded grants of €5,000, €2,000 or €1,000.

Any group that is located within the Dublin Bus network can apply for funding. The network extends as far as Newcastle County Wicklow, Balbriggan in north County Dublin, Dunboyne in County Meath and Maynooth in County Kildare.
