EMERGE: Forthcoming Community Webinars in the Wider Midlands Region
The end of peat cutting and the closure of associated enterprises is having a significant impact on communities across the wider Midlands region.
To make the transition to a climate-neutral economy fair for everyone, we must support the communities most affected by these changes.
EMERGE is a new training and mentoring programme designed to empower communities in the wider Midlands region to meet the challenges posed by Ireland’s transition to a climate-proofed economy and resilient society.
In February, EMERGE will be hosting a series of free webinars for organisations and individuals who work with communities in East Galway, Kildare, Laois, Longford, North Tipperary, Offaly, Roscommon and Westmeath.
The webinars will provide a detailed preview of the upcoming programme of work which will support 21 communities across eight counties (including County Laois and North Tipperary), between now and the end of 2023. This will include an overview of regional-level engagement to date, the type of support available and how EMERGE is focused on working with communities and partners to enable individual communities to progress key projects that they have decided upon and deemed important.
