 “Reconnecting with the Heart of Frontline Practice: Connecting with Compassion in Diverse and Complex Settings”:

Join us for our fourth national conference for frontline practitioners:

 

‘Reconnecting with the Heart of Frontline Practice: ‘Connecting with Compassion in Diverse and Complex Settings’ on Tuesday 30th May 2023 at Nano Nagle Place in Cork and online.

 

We invite you to join us in the tranquil surroundings of Nano Nagle Place in Cork or online on Tuesday 30th May 2023 for a one-day conference to provide a safe and nourishing space for you to reflect on how human connection can help buffer and support us during these challenging times.

 

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘“Reconnecting with the Heart of Frontline Practice: Connecting with Compassion in Diverse and Complex Settings” and it is open to all frontline practitioners and managers working in health, social care, social work or education.



This event will include stimulating presentations from guest speakers, interactive plenary sessions and facilitated break-out spaces.



Guest speakers are:

Dr Tom A. Hutchinson. Professor, Department of Medicine and Department of Oncology Director and Director, McGill Programs in Whole Person Care, Canada.



Dr Naomi Masheti and Fionnuala O’Connell. Naomi is Programme Coordinator with Cork Migrant Centre and she completed her PhD in 2015 specialising in the Psychosocial Wellbeing of Sub-Saharan African Migrant Children. Fionnuala is a board member of INAR, Artist and holds a graduate honours degree in International Development and Food Policy. Her role in Cork Migrants centre involves working with young people.



Our final guest speaker is Marianne Adams. Marianne has over 20 years experience working with children and young people, she is one of the most senior Art Therapists practicing in Ireland, and a registered accredited member of IACAT.



Each will share insight from an individual and practice experience perspective on the topic of relating and connecting.

 

The cost of this one-day event is €50. Certificates are available for all attendees and CPD has been approved by the RCPI (5 Credits).

This is the fourth national conference held by the Heart of Frontline Practice collaborative group to raise awareness of the perception and realities of frontline practice. Our focus is on enabling practitioners from all disciplines to develop and sustain reflective practice.

 

We look forward to welcoming you into this nourishing and inspiring in-person and online   reflective exploration of what is at the heart of frontline practice, while considering the physical, psychological, emotional and relational impacts of frontline work in complex systems.
