INOU Free Yearlong Building Futures Programme for the Unemployed Open for Applications
Are you looking to develop a career working in the community?
If so, the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU) are offering an exciting programme designed to help participants develop a career using their life experiences and skills.
The Building Futures programme is a full time 48-week accredited programme with participants working towards a QQI Level 5 major award in Community Development. It consists of 8 minor components including an eight-week work internship which will draw on participant’s life experiences to enable them to become community workers, facilitators, peer educators, support workers and mentors. The programme is designed to help learners develop a career in the community using their lived experiences and skills and also explore 3rd level college as an option. There is no cost incurred to learners completing Building Futures.
Supports Available to learners:
- Weekly training allowance
- Weekly travel allowance
- Weekly meal allowance
- Access to the National Childcare Scheme (NCS)
- Canteen with free cereal, fruit and snacks

- Individual progression plan.

- Anti-Trafficking
- Manual Handling

- First Aid Responder
- Driver Theory Test
- CAO Application
- Personal Styling for Interviews.

Are you…
- Aged 18 and older?
- Experiencing unemployment?
- In receipt of a social welfare payment or credits?
- In and out of work regularly?
- Moving on from a scheme (C.E., J.I., C.S.P. or similar)?
AND
Do you…
- Have good communication skills.
- Good literacy and I.T. skills.
- Have a passion for working with people.
- Want to make a difference.
- Eligible to work and/or study in Ireland.
- Good level of English.

Cost:
There is no cost to participate on the Building Futures programme. While training eligible learners will receive an ETB training allowance, meal allowance, travel allowance and your secondary social welfare payments will not be affected. Learners also have access to childcare places under the National Childcare Scheme.
