Join SERVE's 5-a-side soccer tournament to tackle unemployment crisis

Posted on 18 Jul 2022

We are delighted to announce that on 10 September we will be kicking off for a day of fun-filled activities all in aid of our Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP).

At the Nemo Rangers GAA Club in Douglas Cork, we will be hosting a 5-a-side soccer tournament where teams will battle it out to win the inaugural SERVE Cup! We hope to have a human-sized foosball table accompanied by food, refreshments, and kid’s activities for the day too.

By signing up for this event, you are directly assisting young people in Zimbabwe and Mozambique to gain the skills they need to live a dignified life. In 2021, SERVE launched the Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP) to combat the youth unemployment crisis in Eastern Africa. The programme works to build their economic resilience by helping them gain the skills they need to finish their education and become employable. It does this by providing holistic Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for 5000 marginalised young people aged 18 – 35 years old, which is both affordable and effective.

Funds raised in this tournament will help us provide graduate start-up kits to over 150 graduates to promote small enterprises such as hairdressing, beauty therapy, solar technology, electronics, carpentry, catering, welding, plus more!

Sign up your team today!
