Making an Impact: DRCC Volunteers in Conversation
To mark National Volunteering Week 2023, DRCC will hold an online panel discussion on 16 May with four of our wonderful volunteers discussing the work they do and the invaluable contribution they make to supporting survivors of sexual violence.

- Via Zoom
- 18:30, 16 May 2023
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre volunteers help maintain the 24-hour National Helpline as well as provide accompaniment support in the Sexual Assault and Treatment Unit (SATU) in the Rotunda Hospital. This special event will give the floor to those unseen heroes who give their time to support others. They will tell us about what that work entails, why they reached out to become involved and how it has such an important impact on their own lives, and on the lives of those whom they support.
The panel will be moderated by our CEO Noeline Blackwell who take the panel through their experiences and learnings. There will be a short Q&A session at the end.
If you have been thinking about volunteering or are curious about the work our volunteers do, you are very welcome to register for this free event! You will hear from real volunteers about the work of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, the role which volunteers play in supporting this work, and how worthwhile they find this act of supporting others. We will also be giving more information about the work of the organisation, the different volunteer roles, the application process and the next training dates.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that aims to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence. Established in 1979, it is the oldest Rape Crisis Centre in Ireland and offers a wide range of services to any person affected by rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or childhood sexual abuse. DRCC is governed by a voluntary board and benefits from the help of dedicated and highly trained volunteers in our support and outreach services. Learn more at www.drcc.ie
