From Royalty to Republic, a Dublin Story
Free Exhibition | The Round Room
Monday 19 July - Sunday 29 August
Open 11am - 8pm daily
The Round Room was built in 1821 for the visit of King George IV to Dublin. Over the past two hundred years, the venue has welcomed royalty yet given birth to the Irish Republic, as the venue for the inaugural Dáil Éireann in 1919. Its long and complex narrative mirrors the history of Dublin.
This year, to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the Round Room we're bringing you a free exhibition that will take visitors on an interactive journey that tells the tale of the important role that the Round Room has played in Dublin’s history for the past two centuries from Royalty to Republic.
