SERVE announces 5-a-side Soccer Tournament to fundraise for startup programmes in Zimbabwe and Mozambique
On September 10th SERVE will be kicking off for a day of fun-filled activities all in aid of our Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP)! Kindly hosted by the Nemo Rangers GAA Club in Douglas Cork, this exciting day will feature a 5-a-side soccer tournament where teams will battle it out to win the inaugural SERVE Cup. We also hope to have a human-sized foosball table accompanied by food, refreshments, and kid’s activities throughout the day.
By signing up for this event, you are directly assisting young people in Zimbabwe and Mozambique to gain the skills they need to live a dignified life. In 2021, SERVE launched the Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP) to combat the youth unemployment crisis in South-eastern Africa. The programme works to build their economic resilience by helping them gain the skills they need to finish their education and become employable. It does this by providing holistic affordable and effective Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for 5000 marginalised young people aged 18 – 35 years old.
Funds raised in this tournament will help us provide graduate start-up kits to over 150 graduates to promote small enterprises including hairdressing, beauty therapy, solar technology, electronics, carpentry, catering, welding, plus more!
