Unlock Opportunities as a Surplus Food Community Champion!

FoodCloud Academy, in collaboration with Atlantic Technological University (ATU), has developed a QQI Level 6 Certificate in Sustainable Food Surplus Practices. 

This can be taken as a full one year, part-time course or in smaller accredited modules over a longer period of time. In 2024, FoodCloud Academy (funded by Pobal) will cover registration fees for a small number of individuals endorsed by charities and community groups to take modules from this course. Individuals can apply for this FoodCloud Academy Grant, and if successful will have the course fees covered for any of the selected 10 credit modules below.

Commencing September 2024: 

Introduction To Surplus Food and Sustainable Food Surplus Management -Introduction To Surplus Food and Repurposing Surplus Food

Online, part-time modules commencing in September 2024 run until December 2024, with one hour lectures, one evening per week and continuous assessment.

Commencing January 2025: 

Introduction To Surplus Food and Food Legislation & Safety -Introduction To Surplus Food and Surplus Food Distribution Online, part-time modules commencing in January 2025 run until May 2025, with one hour lectures, one evening per week and continuous assessment.

Fees/Costs

Under this grant, a refundable €100 deposit paid by community group or charity will be required for each individual doing the course, to be returned upon course completion. If applying directly through ATU, the fullf ee is €500 for the initial core module together with a module of your choice. After this each additional module is €250 (€1500 fort he full QQI Level 6 Certificate)

The application deadline is 1 July and we ask that charities or organisations apply on behalf of their employees or volunteers. An organisation may apply on behalf of as many interested individuals as they wish.
