Oran Doherty headshot

Dr. Oran Doherty - Head of Retail Ireland Skillnet. Dr. Doherty is the Head of Retail Ireland Skillnet - Ireland’s leading retail training and education provider. Retail Ireland Skillnet develop and deliver a wide of training solutions ranging from a 2-year Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision programme to 1-day workshops covering all areas of retail. For the last 15 years he has held several management positions responsible for the design and delivery of work-based learning programmes and industry-education collaborations. Prior to Ibec, Oran was employed by the Department of Education and Skills in Ireland where he was Manager of the Regional Skills Forum Northwest where he managed relationships between universities/colleges and industry. He also spent over 10 years employed in Letterkenny Institute of Technology managing work-based learning. Dr. Doherty has also represented Ireland in numerous EU projects and initiatives and has delivered talks at EU headquarters on skills and industry-university collaboration. In recent years, Oran has delivered workshops and keynote talks throughout Europe on the topic of skills, future of work, industry-education collaboration and training and education in retail.
