Support and Recovery Manager

At Saoirse Domestic Violence Services, we’re seeking a visionary Support and Recovery Manager to oversee our domestic violence refuges and associated services. This senior management role is crucial in shaping high-quality, trauma-informed support systems for victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

The Support and Recovery Manager will have overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of specialised domestic violence refuge and associated services, ensuring the highest standards of support for victims- and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. This Senior Management role requires strong leadership and vision, operational management oversight, and a deep understanding of DSGBV. Accomplished in trauma-informed practice, complex risk assessment skills, safeguarding, housing, legislative obligations and compliance. Will ensure all staff are aligned to SDVS' mission and vision and lead the implementation of consistency across sites. The Manager will work to ensure all Refuge Services inclusive of staff and buildings operate in line with best practices, statutory requirements, and organisational policies to provide high-quality client-centred services at all times

What You’ll Lead:

  • Strategic Management – Ensuring the implementation of crisis management, recovery, trauma informed practices and policies across our refuge sites.
  • Operational Excellence – Manage compliance with housing and charity governance standards (AHBRA, CRA), ensuring service integrity and sustainability.
  • Encourage and support team development – Build resilient leadership, support staff wellbeing, and deliver on the values of SDVS as a model of practice.
  • Support Practice Delivery – Ensure an inclusive, safe, culturally sensitive, and accessible environment for all victims of domestic violence. Lead best practice through our tailored programme of delivery.
  • Partnership & Advocacy – Collaborate with key agencies (Tusla, An Garda Síochána, Local Authorities, CUAN etc.) to drive systemic change and enhance survivor protections.
  • Financial Oversight – Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, financial policies, and CUAN funding agreements. Maintain accurate records, reports, and data collection for monitoring and evaluation.

About you

Who You Are:

  • An experienced manager/social care leader (5+ years’ experience) in the social care or domestic violence sector with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and risk management with a Level 8 or above in Social Care, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Skilled in-service management, team leadership, and inter-agency collaboration.
  • Passionate about survivor advocacy, human rights, and feminist principles.

What we can offer you:

Salary: Social Care Manager 3 HSE scale Oct 2023, starting at €63,350 depending on experience.

Pension: 7% employer’s contribution through our Pension Scheme (7% of annual basic salary) after successful completion of probation.

Annual leave/Public Holidays: Entitled to 30 working days annual leave exclusive of public holidays. Option to purchase up to an additional week's leave.

Company day: Good Friday, offered as an additional day of paid leave.

Paid Sick leave: after successful completion of probation.

Paid Maternity leave: full-pay after 1 year of service.

Doctor visits: €35 euros funding towards 2 Doctor visits per year. Plus, free online doctor.
