Celebrating The Wheel's Anniversary with President Higgins
Last Friday, 21 February 2020, The Wheel was honoured by President Michael D. Higgins with a special reception at Áras an Uachtaráin in recognition of our 20th anniversary.
President Higgins took the opportunity to acknowledge "that a real republic is one in which every person is encouraged and supported to participate fully, and where every person and community is treated with dignity and respect. The wider work of The Wheel and the organisations you represent offers citizens the opportunity to participate as citizens, actively engaging with their communities. This is so important in helping address the issues of social isolation and social exclusion."
