Charities Regulator Publishes Safeguarding Guidelines
The Charities Regulator has today published two guidance documents to help charities in relation to safeguarding.
You can access the documents through the Charities Regulator's website or through the buttons below:
Safeguarding Guidance for Charitable Organisations working with Vulnerable Persons (Adults)
Safeguarding Guidance for Charitable Organisations working with Children
The Regulator worked closely with external experts in drafting these guidance documents which are intended to provide general information for relevant charitable organisations in relation to applications for registration. The Charities Regulator trusts charity trustees and aspiring charity trustees will find these guidance documents a great help in registering their organisation.
All charity trustees are urged to familiarise themselves with the material, not only those charities that provide great services for children and vulnerable adults.
As stated on page 3 of each document, the Charities Regulator is not the body responsible for matters relating to risk assessments or safety checks etc. Such queries should be directed to the appropriate State agency.
