New Well-being Campaign Launched to Support Mental Health Needs During COVID-19
The Department of Health and the HSE, in collaboration with key cross-Government and cross-sectoral partners, have recently launched a mental well-being campaign aimed at offering support and resources to help deal with the stress, anxiety and isolation currently experienced by many people during this difficult time.
The ‘Together’ campaign is hosted here on Gov.ie, points people to the HSE’s Your Mental Health supports and resources which include many online and telephone services, as well as providing tips and advice from cross-Government and Healthy Ireland partners on topics such as physical activity, parenting, coping with daily routines, supporting the ‘cocooned’ and getting involved in the community solidarity efforts.

The campaign is running on all National and Local radio channels, as well as across social and digital platforms. Please find the website and the hashtag #Together. The link to the radio ads is here.
RTÉ Programme
RTÉ are producing a 4 week programme series of Operation Transformation Staying Well Apart going out on Wednesday evenings at 9.30 on RTÉ 1 as a response to the need to help people cope with staying at home/cocooning at this time. The Gov.ie/together campaign is linking in with RTE to assist with this strategy and messaging.
15-minute of daily activity and fitness - daily on RTÉ
In support of people cocooning at this time, RTÉ has launched a 15-minute programme to help older people to keep active at home. It will be broadcast daily on RTÉ One at 2.20pm. It will help viewers who are at home and some in self-isolation or cocooning and will offer tips, especially to older viewers, on how to keep healthy and happy. Fitness 15 will be hosted Monday to Friday at 2.20 PM on with Ray Lally, the Today Show fitness expert, and Dáithí Ó Sé.
Stress Control Programme
HSE, Health & Wellbeing are also offering a Stress Control Online programme, commencing 13 April 2020, via Stresscontrol.org. This 3 week programme is free of charge to the public and delivered by Dr. Jim White, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Stress Control Ltd.
It has never been more important for the public to have evidenced based supports from a trusted source, to help them manage and deal with the range of emotions individuals and families are experiencing at the moment. Please see a briefing note attached with information on how people can access this programme and some suggested messages to help promote the programme to the people you support.
