The Wheel Welcomes New Paper on Voluntary Sector & State's Relationship in Health & Social Care
The Wheel is pleased to see the publication today of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC)’s paper on Building a New Relationship between Voluntary Organisations and the State in the Health and Social Care Sectors. This landmark paper plots a way forward for the sector and the state to build on the strong collaborative approach that was in evidence during the COVID-19 crisis and we would strongly encourage our members to read it.
The Wheel will be working on behalf of our members through the Health Dialogue Forum, which was established by the Department of Health following the publication of the Report of the Independent Review Group on the Role of Voluntary Organisations in Health and Social Services (2018).
We welcome feedback on the new paper from our members and intend to hold a meeting of the HSE-funded Members’ Network in early September to facilitate engagement from those organisations working in health provision.
