Invitation to Special Briefing on National Payments Strategy Consultation, 30 Jan
Does your organisation use cash? Do the people you support rely on cash payments? Would changes to the acceptance of cash payments affect you or those you support?
The Department of Finance has launched a public consultation process on a future National Payments Strategy (NPS) for Ireland. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 14 February.
Join us on Tuesday 30 January at 11am for a special briefing for our members and the wider community & voluntary sector. We’ll be joined by senior officials from the Department of Finance to outline how the consultation will impact our sector and those we support.
The consultation document is quite technical, but its impact is potentially far-reaching. The aim of the National Payments Strategy will be to ‘enhance and build public trust in, and the effectiveness of the payments system’, based on the following principles:
- Access and Choice – promoting reasonable options for consumers and small businesses
- Security and Resilience - of the payments system and system operators
- Innovation and Inclusion – future focus that enhances interoperability and inclusion
- Sustainability and Efficiency – solutions that have regard to cost / benefit and the environment.
Book your place now for this important opportunity.
