‘Evaluating Impact in the Community and Voluntary Sector’ Training Programme
The Centre for Effective Services has developed this training programme specifically for practitioners and service providers in the community and voluntary sector.
It will bring participants together in hands-on sessions to learn how to effectively evaluate and communicate the impact of their initiatives.
It is suitable for those who need to understand the basics, and those who need skills to analyse and report on data.
The programme is divided into 3 sessions, delivered online, and you can choose the session most suited to your knowledge and experience.
Session 1: An introduction to evaluation: Understanding the essentials
Part 1-Thursday 19 September &
Part 2-Tuesday 24 September
- Will enable you to articulate the relationship between what you do and the difference it is making.
- Understand and define your outcomes and how you can measure them.
Session 2: The nuts and bolts of evaluation: What to evaluate at each project stage
Part 1-Thursday 17 October &
Part 2-Tuesday 22 October
- Will enable you to choose the right evaluation method at different stages of your work.
- Develop an evaluation plan.
- Gather the right data and ask the right questions.
Session 3: Telling your evaluation story: How to analyse your data and communicate results
Part 1-Thursday 14 November &
Part 2-Tuesday 19 November
- Will enable you to organise and analyse the quantitative and qualitative data you have gathered.
- Identify the meaning of your data – what you can say about what is working and what is not.
- Use the stories and the numbers to talk about your work.
