Call for Volunteers!
The Wheel are looking to recruit volunteers to help out at our Annual Conference in Croke Park Conference Centre this year. If you have an interest in event management, the community and voluntary sector, and are available on 29 May, we would love to hear from you.

The Wheel Summit
The Wheel's National Summit for Charities, Community Organisations, and Social Enterprises takes place on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, at Croke Park. This year’s theme is Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future. This year's Summit will take you on a journey of reflection and exploration. We'll delve into the role of the sector in shaping the recent past, fostering innovation, and driving social change into the future.
This is a great opportunity for those with an interest in the Community and Voluntary sector to attend The Wheel’s conference, which costs delegates €125 to attend. We are interested in hearing from volunteers who are chatty, energetic and ready to get stuck in.
The Summit is always a fast-paced, jam-packed day. With over 400 attendees, 40 exhibitors, VIPs and live performances, there is plenty to keep the staff team busy. In 2023 we invited a small team of volunteers to help out on the day. This was such a success, for both the organisation and the volunteers that we are delighted to open the call again.
Tasks you can expect to assist with:
- Hospitality
- Crowd management
- Event logistics
- Venue set up.
What will The Wheel do:
- A briefing session for volunteers will be held shortly, where Sinead Vaughan and Sarah MacArtain from The Wheel will run through the plans for the day, and answer any questions.
- A task list for all staff and volunteers closer to the date of the event.
- Volunteers will be accompanied by staff members for the duration of the event.
- Volunteers will be reimbursed for the out of pocket and travel expenses incurred by attending The Wheel Summit on 29 May.
- The Wheel will provide lunch and refreshments for volunteers at the Croke Park Conference Centre on 29 May 2024.
- The Wheel will be happy to provide a reference after the event.
