1 May 2024 marked the 20th anniversary of the European Union enlargement, opening the route for Polish migration to Ireland. Today over 125,000 Polish people call Ireland home, making us the largest ethnic minority in Ireland. To mark the occasion Forum Polonia is organising a conference to reflect on the past and the future of this unique relationship between Ireland and the Polish community.

The conference aims to discuss the integration experiences of the Polish community in Ireland in the last 20 years. The Polish diaspora in Ireland is considered a community that blended in. However, under the surface Poles in Ireland experience integration challenges and social marginalisation. The conference will be an opportunity to bring both Polish and Irish perspectives on the challenges and benefits of Polish migration to Ireland.
