Free Public Lecture, 2023 Carers Week, 19 June
Carers Week is an important time to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of carers in Ireland. Being a carer for a sick loved one is a challenging and often emotionally taxing role. It requires a great deal of patience, compassion, and strength.
This online workshop aims to provide valuable support and resources for people who work as caregivers for their loved ones. It will focus on the unique challenges faced by caregivers and will offer practical strategies for stress management, self-care, and emotional well-being.
This public lecture will focus on:
- The impact of caring on mental health
- Establishing a support network
- The importance of prioritising self-care
- Mindfulness and stress reduction techniques
- Developing effective coping mechanisms
- Managing stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
We will also provide an open floor for discussion and encourage participants to share their own experiences of being a carer and the challenges they face.
You can register for the workshop on our website using the link below and we will send Zoom login details for access on 19 June.
