GROW2030 - General Election Manifesto

Posted on 19 Sep 2024

Community gardens and allotments are powerful tools for climate adaptation and combating biodiversity loss. They provide spaces where communities can connect, grow, and thrive, offering evidence-based physical and mental health benefits while fostering social inclusion and cohesion.

Despite this, Ireland currently offers one of the lowest number of allotments and community gardens in Europe. We believe that every community should have a space to grow.

Community Gardens Ireland therefore have put together our manifesto called GROW2030 for all political parties and candidates in the upcoming General Election, to ensure that allotments and community gardens are included in future programmes for government.

We have contacted all current members of the Dáil and Seanad on this, but we need your help to raise these issues on the doorstep and during meetings with local candidates.
