National Conference & Launch of Pobal HP Deprivation Index – 2 Nov
This year, Pobal is celebrating our 30th Anniversary and throughout the year we have been demonstrating the progress made over the last three decades to achieve, social inclusion, equality and community development through a series of events around the country.
The final event of the year will be a National Conference and Launch of the HP Deprivation Index on Thursday 2 November in the Print Works, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2.
The Pobal HP Deprivation Index is Ireland’s primary social gradient tool, used by numerous Government Departments and state agencies for the identification of disadvantage, in order to target resources towards communities most in need.
Minister for Social Protection and Rural & Community Development Heather Humphreys TD will officially launch the new Pobal HP Deprivation Index at the conference.
Pobal, in our role in working on behalf of Government to support communities, commissions the HP Deprivation Index following each census wave. This provides us with a tool for the allocation of resources and the targeting of services that we can offer to Government Departments and state agencies as a way of targeting schemes and services towards those most marginalised.
Please find the agenda for the event attached. Further details of the event can be found on our website here.
We would be delighted to have you join us in the Print Works, Dublin Castle, Dublin, for this half day event, commencing at 9am.
